The Great Theatre of Havana, pricipal Headquarters of the National Opera of Cuba and the world famous ballet directed by Alicia Alonso, is located on the Paseo de Martí, also known as the Paseo del Prado, southwest corner of San Rafael pedestrian boulevard in the west side of Central Park.
Today it is one of the leading cultural institutions in the Cuban capital and architecturally one of the icon of the city and is one of the largest opera houses in the world, with capacity for 500 thousand spectators.
The building has the necessary requirements for comfort, capacity, ventilation and acoustic conditions. The most important spaces is the García Lorca Hall. Built in neo-baroque style, modeled after European Baroque buildings, so abundant carvings and stone sculptures.
